LOS ANGELES — Welcome ye to the freshly minted, freshly varnished Fresh-o-sphere 2.0 beta. This marks the beginning of a new era in Hud-dom.
Since we last talked, a bunch of stuff has happened. Maggie! Tigers hit the World Series! And who honestly gives three sheets about the rest.
Here’s what remains true since 2005 (Fresh 1.0):1. California is my favorite place in the world (looking at you, irrigation
2. Los Angeles is the greatest city ever created (looking at you, Langer’s and The Sun)
Here’s what’s changed:
1. Maggs flippin’ rules (hat tip, Becks)
2. Coffee is worthy of hours and hours of focus and toil (obvs, Intelli)
3. I say the word “brand” a lot and can talk about Facebook “strategy” (bovs, Camp Organic)
Fresh will be a new and happy home for the old gang to read up on the Hudsons. Facebook is a tad bit limiting. And Twitter is for crazy people. So here we are on Tumblr, blogging it up again.

As I’m prone to blather on and on about, the ol’ career thus far has been one “I can’t believe I got this job” gig after another. Since about May 2010, amid the lastest impossibly-awesome job I was doing, I began playing footsie with a couple of dream jobbie type scenarios. One involved writing.
***And I dammmmmmmm near got the effer. Writing for a guy who I consider one of the finest in all media. Meetings were had. Vibes were good. I was getting my CAA tattoo picked out w/3D lettering…then, alas, nothing. Not sure why. Sure was nice to meet that bunch, tho…***
I had a nice little “other” dream job in the wings. No kidding. Here in 2011, I’ve had two looks at jobs I can’t fully believe exist.
***And this is excluding the one working for a pro sporting team which may or may not have lost the ability to hire me when they, um, well… I’m not even counting that one. FREEESSSSHH***
Cha Boy Young Hud will be joining forces with three of the top names in specialty coffee, right here in Los Angeles. A new force in the roasting world, a new cafe in LA, and a fresh-outta-the-oven brand to manage and strategize Twitter profile photos for. Don’t laugh. Some people actually do this for a living. And take themselves quite seriously. OMG SMH ROFLMAO (Plus, I’m apprenticing with mop/cleaning-gum-out-of-the-locks…a growth industry)
My company is run by Tyler Wells, Michael Phillips and Chris Owens…all formerly of Intelli. And, as you might guess, they are as talented as they come. Coffee start up! Some freelance writing! Tons ‘o running!
